Privacy
Last updated 30 October 2026 (v2.4).
This website uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts.
This website is private by design
- No cookies. This website sets no cookies and keeps nothing in your browser’s storage. No advertising or cross-site tracking, and no profile of you.
- No IP addresses stored. We never see your name, email address or IP address in our statistics. Our visit counts hold no IP address, browser details or identifier, so they cannot be joined up into a person.
- Your opt-out is respected. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, this site measures nothing at all: the measurement script stops before loading anything, and our server ignores the request too.
- No third-party trackers. No third-party scripts, fonts or trackers: everything on this page loads from this site.
- Strict security policy. A strict Content Security Policy stops our pages loading anything we have not allowed, including inline scripts.
Our training games are private by design in their own right: learners need no account, and the courses send nothing anywhere (see Private by design on the home page). The rest of this notice is about the website only.
What we measure, when measurement is switched on
We use two small, cookieless tools. Both only run when they are switched on in the site settings, and the line in bold at the top of this page says whether they are.
1. Cloudflare Web Analytics (visits and page speed)
Our host, Cloudflare, provides a privacy-first analytics script. It counts page views and visits (a visit is a page view that arrived from another website or a direct link; it does not count unique people), the website you came from, the page path, your country, and your device type, browser and operating system (worked out from the request, not stored as an identifier), and page-speed measurements called Core Web Vitals. Cloudflare says it does not use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting for this, and does not track individuals across websites. See Cloudflare Web Analytics and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
2. Our own event counts (which parts of the page are useful)
A short script on this site sends an anonymous count to our own server address (/api/e) when someone:
- opens the page (with the website you came from, only its domain name, and any campaign tags in the link such as
utm_source), - presses a main button such as “Request a walkthrough”,
- uses the enquiry email builder (only that it was used: nothing you choose or type in it reaches us, and the email itself is only ever sent by you, from your own mail app),
- plays the game footage, opens an FAQ answer, or scrolls to a section of the page.
Each count holds: the event name and a short label (for example faq_open: where-does-learner-data-go), the page path, the screen-size class (phone, tablet or desktop), and the country that Cloudflare’s network reports for the request. It holds no IP address, browser details, cookie or identifier, so counts cannot be joined up into a person or a visit. They are stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine, which keeps data for three months (Cloudflare’s stated retention, checked 30 October 2026).
Why, and the legal basis
We use these totals to see whether the site explains our training well and works fast, and to improve it. Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 we collect only what we need for that purpose. For visitors in the EU, EEA and UK, nothing is stored on or read from your device beyond what is needed to show the page, so no cookie consent is needed; any processing rests on our legitimate interest in running a usable website, with the opt-outs above.
Children, schools and individual learners
This website is meant for adults deciding about training: people in organisations, educators and individual learners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through it. The measurement described above is the same for every visitor and identifies no one.
For schools and education providers: our training games need no student accounts and make no network connections, and progress stays with the learner. A learner’s record only reaches anyone if they choose to share it. Any use with students should still follow your own policies.
If you email us, we use your message only to reply and keep it for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry. Our email is hosted by Proton.
